This is a picture of me looking at my puppy, Bella. There's actually a blanket over our heads, but it turned out to look like the sky (kind of)! This was my first time using any type of photo editing software, so this whole process was a challenge. I downloaded Gimp and was completely lost. I looked at some tutorials on YouTube and played around with it a LOT! It's really amazing how many different things you can do with pictures. I've learned many new things by working with Gimp, but I still have a lot more to learn. I really enjoyed this assignment!
This is how I modified my picture:
1. I clicked on File and then Open to open my image in Gimp.
2. Under Filters, I clicked on Light and Shadow>Sparkle. (This added the sparkle to Bella's eye!)
3. Under Filters, I clicked on Light and Shadow>Supernova. (This added a starburst to the upper left hand corner of the picture.)
4. Under Filters, I clicked on Edge-Detect>Neon. (That turned the background black and outlined the image with neon lines.)
